Triskel Marine Take Part in a METSTRADE Show Discussion Panel

A great part of the annual METSTRADE show every year is the fact that leading marine professionals from around the world can come together to discuss the key issues affecting the industry. Those attending the show are invited in order gain a deeper understanding of the topic from the experts, with the chance to ask questions as part of the discussion.

Our MD Ken Wittamore was asked to take part in the ‘How Green is Green?’ panel discussion on the 2nd day of the event. The aim was to debate the real long-term benefits of sustainable actions in the marine industry and how they are being measured, both by life cycle assessment and environmental impact. Ken was arguing for a more responsible use of diesel, with our product Integrel making a major contribution to this approach.

Ken was joined by fellow panelists Dr. Vienna Eleuteri, Sustainability Manager at Viareggio Superyachts in Italy, Dr. Jaap van der Woude, the Sustainability Committee Chairman for the European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA), James Starkey, a graduated Bachelor in Yacht Design & Production and Charlotte Schiffer, a Designer at LADIDA Design Institute.

There were lots of interesting points raised, and some great thought-provoking questions from the audience which the organisers felt were well covered by the experienced panel, both in terms of knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject. We’re proud to be bringing a marine technology to market which we believe will be part of a new wave of innovative solutions designed to protect and maintain the maritime environment we all love.

With the growing awareness of environmental issues, and the obvious interest and engagement of the audience, discussions are already underway to continue the conversation at METSTRADE 2019, which we very much look forward to being a part of!

Our product Integrel completely replaces your existing generator by using the ‘spare’ capacity from your existing inboard engine. If you would like to find out more about how Integrel can help you reduce your onboard diesel use and, subsequently your environmental impact, please get in touch or explore the Integrel page.
